The longest week on the PGA Tour had to be the US Open a few weeks ago. I can't remember a week that felt like a month with all the rain and all the stopping and starting.  I have to say that a top ten finish wasn't all that bad considering the way Mike drove the ball.

The course was playing as long as any course we have played since I have been caddying on tour.  Even with all the rain we had that week, it was still in great shape and very playable.  I think Mike only had to take relief from casual water two or three times.

The grounds crew did an incredible job to get that event done on the Monday.  I realize they had almost every course worker in NY there that week, yet it was incredible how playable the course was.I would love to see the course play like it could, very fast and firm, it would have been a completely different golf course.

As the week turned out I am happy for Lucas Glover who is a great guy and is good for the Tour and the game.

After the round Monday in New York we headed up to Quebec City for the Canadian Skins game which is always a lot of fun.  It is the first time that I've been there in twenty years or so and I was very impressed with the city.  Forgot just how pretty it was and how neat the downtown area was with all the restaurants and clubs.

The golf course called La Tempete was a very nice place that was quite challenging considering the wind was blowing 30 miles an hour the entire day.  I didn't even have to caddy as the caddy spots were auctioned off, but I helped the guys out with some yardages when needed.  Jim Little from Royal Bank caddied for Mike so that made the day quite enjoyable even though there was a lot of babysitting to do!!

I think the players had a great time and have yet to see the broadcast but I am sure it went over quite well.  I commend TELUS and IMG on their work and commitment of the event.

After a quick trip back home to Dallas it was time to get back to work this week at the AT&T National, which is one of two tournaments hosted by Tiger this year.  I really like coming to the D.C. area as I have always been a huge Washington Redskin fan!  I think the Besthesda area is very pretty and there is always lots of fun things to do away from the course.

Today was the Pro-Am and what a day it was.  Mike played with Jason Campbell and Antwaan Randle-el of the Skins and the Washington Capitals coach, Bruce Boudreau.  It is always fun when you get to spend the day on the course talking football let alone Redskin football!

I had a great day chatting with Shaun Suisham who walked around with us inside the ropes. Shaun is from Wallaceburg, Ontario and is the place kicker for the Skins.  He was a great guy and really made the day enjoyable. I would like to say that I chatted with Jason and Antwaan but I am not sure they were ever in the fairway to chat! It was a tough day for both as they were a little out of their element on the golf course.

Bruce was a great guy and we talked all sorts of hockey, from his days coaching the Mississippi Sea Wolves to where he is now.  He is quite a good player and from the sounds of it plays all the time.  Overall one of the best Pro-Am's that I have worked on Tour.

This week's course is Congressional which is hosting the US Open in couple of years and it is a great old fashion course. Reminds me a lot of the National in Toronto.  Lots of trees lining the fairways and greens with lots of slope and quite fast.  The rough this year isn't as bad as it has been in the past but still penalizing.  I think there could be some good scores if the greens stay soft like they are or if they dry out scoring could get very difficult.

They have added some new tees to the course in preparation for the open but I don't think we will be using them this week.  Once this event is over they are going to tear up the greens and redo them for the Open so the members will be without their course for the remainder of the summer.  There is another course on property that is almost as good as the one we are playing, or so they say.

This also happens to be the big July 4 weekend in the US and what better place to be than the nation's capital. For the past few years I have made my way down to the large fireworks on the weekend which is quite a spectacle with 400,000 people or so.  That reminds me that I should say happy Canada day to everyone back home!

Look forward to continue to build on Mike's good play as we get into the heart of the season. Lots of events in the next few months.  The key is to continue playing consistently and keep getting opportunities to win and remain patient.  The more time you put yourself in contention the greater the chance you have to win.  Hopefully in one of my next reports I can be telling you all about a victory party!!

As always, thanks for the support
