Off early with the usual suspects at 7:23 PST tomorrow.

I think Mike will play well tomorrow and crack the top 10 going into the weekend.

I think another 69 will move him up a bit - a 68 will have him in contention going into the weekend. My guess is that -8 will be the lead after tomorrow, with the pack at -5 and -6.

82 players at Even par or better - Even is T55 - suggesting the cut will come at Even par tomorrow. Quite a few notables have work to do tomorrow if they want to play the weekend... I'll have my MC at the ready - nicely warmed up after they complete round two in Dubai earlier in the day....

Mike's driving accuracy (and distance) were simply middle of the pack. His putting was also middle of the pack. He did excel at GIR (T5) and proximity to hole (almost 10' below the average).

But, really, a very decent round could have been helped immensely by some quality putting.

Not a bad start... hopefully we will enjoy another fine weekend with Mike.

Just a heads up to Cambone - this thread was started yesterday - he may want to delete his new thread and try again for round 3. Maybe eagle will move his comments over to this one as well.

This thread was started first so I'll get this back to the top. They have started and Mike is off in about 20 minutes. Yesterday I heard that they were calling for rain today. Sounded like the afternoon. Could turn out good for Mike and not so good for Ames.

First six competative rounds of the season in the 60s. A good sign of things to come. Hopefully, he can improve on the 69 and move up the leaderboard. Go get them Mike.

On a side note, what do people think of Tom Watson comments on Tiger that were posted on TGC? Interesting to note that Tom thinks Tiger has to not only deal with his personal problems, but, Tiger also has tio improve his on course attitude; e.g. foul language and throwing of clubs. Certain something that we have commented on before on this board.

I brought eagle's comment above over from the other Rd2 thread ... cause I wanted to comment.

Eagle, I saw that on TGC as well, and was very glad that Tom spoke out like he did. I have been critical of Tiger's on course antics on this forum since I signed on, and just cannot believe how the media at large cuts him so much slack on his infantile behaviour.
Charlie Rymer would be the exception. anyway, Good on Tom Watson.

I was wondering what the heck was going on - there were no round 2 threads showing. Must be my computer.

Just stated in my other post that the rain may hold off until the afternoon wave so that would be beneficial for Mike. Winds will be about 20 km so that will be a bit of an issue. Post a 67/68 and move on up leaderboard.

just tried to get an accurate idea of the weather, as did Cambone, and my usual "live" radar feed is 'down' at the moment, so we need to depend on text, which more often than not is way behind and / or inaccurate. anyhoo, what I saw was some rain starting to enter the area, but no talk of thunderstorms, at least not for now.
Rain will increase as the day goes on, so lets hope Mike's early start pays off, and he can get his round in on soft greens, and post a decent number. Then he can relax and if the afternoon wave get washed out, it will be a long day for them tomorrow.
I'm betting on a Monday finish, based on the long range.

Good morning everyone.
It doesn't look like asdfghf is on board right now, so does anyone know the link for the timely PBP updates?

This one is the round 1 link....

http://www.pgatour.com/.element/ssi/aut ... 3/pbp.html

... but I don't understand which character in the URL is the round number. I guessed a few times and kept getting "page not found".
