Top Canadian Juniors Go Head-to-Head at Bank of Montreal Future Links Western Ch

Stony Plain, Alta. -- Some of the region`s top junior golfers will go head-to-head July 3-6 in the Bank of Montreal Future Links Western Championship at Stony Plain Golf Course, Stony Plain, Alta. The Western Championship, the second of six events in the Future Links Junior Series, will feature 84 of the region's top young male and female golfers in a three-day, 54-hole stroke play competition.

Some players to watch include Ryan Vallely and Brooks Blackmer, both members of the National Junior Team and top-ranked male juniors in Alberta, as well as Lindsay McMillan, the top-ranked girl in Alberta, winner of the 2000 Alberta Girls Championship and three-time Alberta Provincial Team member.

Launched in 2000, the Bank of Montreal Future Links Junior Series is a series of junior golf championships designed to develop and showcase promising junior golfers' competitive skills at an elite level of tournament play. It is conducted by the Royal Canadian Golf Association, Canadian Professional Golfers' Association and Canada's provincial golf associations. In addition to the Bank of Montreal's title sponsorship, the program also receives support from its official suppliers Ford Motor Company of Canada, ClubLink Corporation and Top-Flite.
