Born in North Bay, Ontario, Morland now resides in Windermere, Florida where he enjoys fishing and golfing. In 1991, he graduated from Kent State University with a degree in Marketing and soon after he began his pro golfing career.
In 2000, Morland had a breakthrough season. He finished second at PGA Q-school and joined Mike Weir, Ian Leggatt, and Glen Hnatiuk as the only exempt Canadians on the PGA Tour. He continued his success in 2001 with career high earnings of $279,877 and finished 5th at the Bell Canadian Open; also a career best. Morland hopes to build on his success of the previous two years in 2002.
