Tue, 03 Mar 2009 01:32:08

"Born in Cambridge, Ontario Leggatt now resides in Scottsdale, Arizona with his wife Lori. He has always been an active member of the community having served as the Athletic Director for the Cerebral Palsy Foundation of Tarrant County in Ft. Worth, Texas, working with disabled kids. He is also sponsored by the Ronald McDonald Children's Charities to raise money for kids.

Leggatt turned pro in 1990 and joined the Buy.com Tour in 2000; finishing 5th on the money list including six top-10 finishes. In 2001 he qualified for the PGA Tour and had three top-10 finishes, including a 5th place finish at the John Deere Classic, and earned $368, 862; good enough for 133rd on the PGA money list, narrowly missing the cut for the 2002 PGA season. Fortunately, at the 2001 Q-school Leggatt finished in 5th place and qualified for the 2002 PGA Tour with exempt status, solidifying his place as one of Canada's top golfers. Ian was also a Provincial and national speed skating champion in Canada.
