Beginning this coming season, the top two players off the Canadian Tour's Order of Merit as of mid-September will be granted exemption into the second stage of the PGA TOUR Qualifying School, a first for the Canadian Tour.
"Obviously this recognition and endorsement by the PGA Tour is an enormous step forward for our Tour," said an elated Burelle. "I want to thank commissioner Tim Finchem, his staff and the PGA TOUR Policy Board for their continued support of our efforts."
The Canadian Tour is an associate member of the International Federation of PGA Tours and all its official money tournaments are included in the World Golf Rankings. The Tour's top 30 players from the Order of Merit are currently exempted into the final qualifying stage for the following year's British Open.
