Canadian Tour Players Competing at Buycom CPGA Championship

"RICHMOND HILL, ON-Canadian Tour players grabbed nine of the 14 available spots during qualifying Monday for this week's Buy.com Samsung CPGA Championship.

Jason Bohn, David McKenzie, Will Mackenzie, Davidson Matyczuk, Eddie Maunder, Mayson Petty , Steve Runge, Zoltan Veress and Steve Davey earned spots in the $450,000 US event to be held at DiamondBack Golf Club in Richmond Hill, ON from Thursday to Sunday.

Defending champion Richard Zokol of B.C. pulled out of the tournament Tuesday after gaining entry into the PGA Tour's Buick Classic.

The Canadian Tour will be well represented this week at DiamondBack, with the nine qualifiers joining a host of other Tour members in the starting field. Hank Kuehne (Palm Beach, FL), Jeff Quinney (Scottsdale, AZ), Steve Scott (Wellington, FL), Derek Gillespie (Oshawa, ON) and Rob McMillan (Winnipeg, MB) received exemptions by virtue of their standing on the Order of Merit after the Lewis Chitengwa Memorial Championship earlier this month.

Steven Alker, Jace Bugg and Patrick Moore, who have notched Buy.com titles this year, will also play this week. Other Canadian Tour members slated to tee it up are Todd Fanning, Jon Mills, Arron Oberholser, Craig Matthew, David Ogrin, Bryn Parry, Jim Rutledge, Roger Tambellini, Vic Wilk, Chad Wright, David Branshaw, David Morland IV, Scott Petersen, Ben Ferguson, Nathan Green and Craig Kanada.
