The CGF's scholarship program has been funding promising young golfers since 1982. The scholarships, which are valued at up to $5,000 per year, assist promising young golfers and those pursuing careers in the golf industry with the cost of education while attending college or university. Successful candidates must maintain an "A" average, demonstrate success in golf at the local, provincial and national level, participate in extra-curricular activities and give back to the sport in some way.
The scholarship program is funded by investment revenue from the CGF designated scholarship fund, as well as generous contributions from the Royal Canadian Golf Association, the Canadian Ladies' Golf Association, the Callaway Golf Company, ClubLink Corp., and others. Separate funds are established for the Geordie Hilton and Kanata Lakes scholarships.
"We are proud to recognize the accomplishments of these talented young Canadians," said Al Macatavish, Canadian Golf Foundation president. "These students represent the future of the game of golf in Canada and we are pleased to honour their successes and help them achieve their goals."
