Seven Canadian Open Champions to Play in 2002 Bell Canadian Open

"Markham, Ont. - The Royal Canadian Golf Association (RCGA) announced today that every Bell Canadian Open champion from 1993 - 1999 intends to compete in the Bell Canadian Open to be held September 2-8 at Angus Glen Golf Club in Markham, Ontario.

The players who have confirmed their intentions to compete are as follows:

David Frost (1993 champion)
Nick Price (1994, 1991 champion)
Mark O'Meara (1995 champion)
Dudley Hart (1996 champion)
Steve Jones (1997, 1989 champion)
Billy Andrade (1998 champion)
Hal Sutton (1999 champion)

These golfers join defending champion Scott Verplank, Phil Mickelson, Vijay Singh, Jesper Parnevik, Charles Howell III, and Canada's own Mike Weir who have already confirmed their intention to play in the 2002 Bell Canadian Open.

The world's best professional golfers will gather at Markham's Angus Glen Golf Club September 2-8 for the 2002 Bell Canadian Open, Canada's oldest open golf championship. Limited tickets still remain for all tournament events including practice round Monday and Tuesday, a championship pro-am on Wednesday, and tournament rounds Thursday through Sunday.
