Tue, 03 Mar 2009 01:46:57

"Acushnet Canada has signed a long-term agreement with the Canadian PGA to promote the Canadian PGA Club Professional Championship to one of the premier golf events in the country. The new Canadian PGA CPC, sponsored by Titleist, FootJoy and Cobra, will feature qualifying formats across the country, ensuring national representation. Acushnet Canada secures title sponsorship of the Canadian PGA CPC through 2005, and has also extended its sponsorship of the Canadian PGA Assistants' Championship into 2003.

Acushnet, whose brands include Titleist, FootJoy, Cobra and Pinnacle, has been a long time supporter of the Canadian golf professional through product, service and educational support. On a national level, Acushnet is a Founding Sponsor of the Canadian PGA Retirement Advantage Program, the Canadian PGA Zone Titleist Cup Matches, and the Canadian PGA Assistants' Championship.

""We are pleased to build upon our long-standing support of the Canadian PGA Golf Professional,"" said Paul DeCorso, President of Acushnet Canada Inc. ""Our goal is to work with the Canadian PGA to elevate the CPC to a status worthy of this great national championship, and to build an event that all 3,000 members of the Canadian PGA can take pride in. We are proud to extend our grass roots support of golf in Canada.""

""The Canadian PGA is excited to strengthen its relationship with Acushnet through this new sponsorship,"" said Danielle O'Rourke, Executive Director of the Canadian PGA. ""Acushnet has clearly defined itself as an industry leader and their support of Canadian PGA members and initiatives is greatly valued.""

The Canadian PGA Club Professional Championship is one of five national championships staged each year by the Canadian Professional Golfers' Association and brings together the top club professionals from each of the nine Zones of the Canadian PGA in a three-day, 54-hole competition. The site and date for the 2003 Championship will be announced in the near future."
