The Bob Hope Classic will welcome 10 of its past 11 champions when play begins next week, event organizers announced today.

Mike Weir, David Duval and Kenny Perry all committed today to playing in the Classic, which begins Jan. 19 in La Quinta. They join previously committed champions Bill Haas, the defending champ, Jesper Parnevik (2000) and Justin Leonard (2005).

Weir won the 2003 Bob Hope Classic, as well as The Masters Tournament that year. Duval won the Classic in 1999 while setting a single-round scoring record with a 59, and Perry - the Masters runner-up in 2009 - won the event in 1995.

Other champions who have committed include: Pat Perez (2009), D.J. Trahan (2008) and Chad Campbell (2006).

The field includes 10 golfers who won tournaments last season and four who played in the 2010 Ryder Cup.

The celebrity field begins play Jan. 19 at SilverRock Resort and heads to different courses each day before culminating Jan. 22 at the Arnold Palmer Course at PGA WEST in La Quinta.

The 128-man pro field will play through Jan. 23, alternating locations before finishing at the Palmer Course.
